Free 462 Think and Grow Rich Electronic Flashcards
for Your Smart Phone or PC

To help in my continuing study of Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich” I have created 462 electronic flashcards that I can view on my iPhone. The application I’m using to view the cards is called Flashcards Deluxe . I have no affiliation with the creator of that application.

While I prefer using the flashcards on my phone since I take it everywhere I go, there are flashcard applications for PCs and Macs too. The point is, if you want to use the cards, there is certainly a way for you to do it.

One free program that I found for the PC is called Cue Cards. You can download it at http://download.cnet.com/CueCard/3000-2051_4-10075304.html. It seems to work with the text files I created as is.

Here is what I did to create the cards:

1. Following the application instructions, I have created 16 different text files. There is a file for each chapter of the book and one file that has all of the quotes.

2. For ease of downloading, I have put all 16 files into a single zip file. You need to save this file to your hard drive and unzip it. I recommend right clicking on the link below and selecting the “Save As” or “Save Link As” option (depending on your browser). You can unzip the file on either Windows or Mac computers. Below is the link to the zip file:

3. If you want to use Flashcards Deluxe, go to http://orangeorapple.com/Flashcards/ for instructions how to upload the files to your phone. There are many other flashcard programs available, but you may have to reformat the files.

You can open the text files in Excel which will allow you to change the column headings, etc. I don’t know if there is a version of this program for Android phones. If not, I’m sure there are other programs you can use. You will have to follow that program’s instructions for formatting and loading the files.

4. Because you can open the text file in Excel, you could print them on regular index cards, if you prefer. Because of the flexibility and convenience, I recommend sticking with using the cards electronically.

About the Flashcards

1. There are 462 cards in the entire collection. This is an exhaustive collection of quotes from “Think and Grow Rich.”

2. As I already mentioned, I have divided the cards into separate files for each chapter. What this means is that either focus on specific chapters or go through the entire list.

3. On the “back” of each card, there is an “acronym” that helps you review/memorize the quote. This is a technique that I used in college and have found useful ever since. The way it works is this: I include the first letter of each word with capitalization and punctuation.

For example, take the quote: “All achievement, all earned riches have their beginning in an idea!” The acronym for that would be “Aa, aerhtbiai!” In Flashcards Deluxe, if you click on the card, you can flip it back and forth between the front and the back. I know this may seem like an odd way to memorize quotes. But try it a few times-it works.

You probably won’t want to to do this for all of the quotes, but you may want to use it for quotes that strike you as profound. I have found that when I use this method to memorize quotes, I tend to think about the information more frequently. And thinking/meditating leads to understanding and action. Action creates results.

Possible Think and Grow Rich Class

Think and Grow Rich is a deep book and requires a lot of thought and meditation in order to fully understand the concepts. The ideas themselves are not difficult, but they are profound. Many of the ideas cannot be fully understood until you apply them. In order to help you better understand and apply Think and Grow Rich, I am considering offering a class on the book. But I will only put forward the effort if enough people are interested. Otherwise, I’ll just pursue my own studies.

So…if you would be interested in an in depth class on Think and Grow Rich, email me at whmarshall@earthlink.net. As I currently envision it, the class will consist of a study guide, recordings, webinar, and answering questions by email. There will probably be a separate session for each of the 15 chapters in the book. It will be free to people who purchase my Power Affirmations recordings (including people who have already purchased them at any time in the past).

If you want the easiest way to apply the principle of auto-suggestion that Napoleon Hill discusses in “Think and Grow Rich,” you may want to consider getting my 488 Power Affirmations recordings. Each affirmation is a separate audio file, so you can create your own playlists. Also, it means that you can shuffle the recordings and use the repeat function to listen to any of the recordings for as long as you want. If you think of each affirmation as a separate song, you have the right idea exactly.
