Here's a simple question for you: How Can We Change the World?
Notice that I didn't ask, "can we change the world?" My assumption is that we
can and must change it for the better for all of our sakes. Also notice I
didn't ask how you can change the world. Or how I can change the world.
It's how WE, working together can improve the world.
So, here are a few simple thoughts on how we can make this happen:
- Be positive. If you are going to change the world, the first
place to start with is always yourself. Commit yourself to being positive
and to being a success, goal oriented person. Study self-help materials.
Condition yourself with affirmations.
- Contribute to others--especially to those around you. It's great
to give to worthy organizations who help people, but that's not as personal
as contributing to others in your sphere of influence. Do it every day. It
may be as simple as a kind word. It may be helping someone financially. Or
giving a business referral. Or letting them know about some positive book or
other material that has helped you. But give and give often. As a positive
person, my belief is that you have a responsibility to give to others.
- Get involved in your community. In many ways, this is more
important than getting involved in national politics. That's because it's
much easier to get involved and to have a powerful impact in a very short
time. Here's a simple question: is our society better off if we have
positive people involved or if we leave it to negative people? I think we
are all much better off if good, positive people show some leadership and
get involved. Here are some suggestions:
--Local government. Even if it is just attending open government meetings.
But if you can, volunteer, join committees, etc.
--Chamber of Commerce. The great thing about the Chamber is that these are
usually very influential local business people. And, what a surprise, they tend
to be positive proactive people (that's why their the owners of the business).
Don’t think you have to be a business owner to join. Check with the chamber. You
may be able to join just by paying the annual dues (usually a small amount).
This is a great place to network. Who knows what opportunities will open up to
you.
--Your local schools. This is where the next generation of leaders is.
Goodness knows, they need some positive people to help guide them in positive
directions.
- Do business with positive businesses. When you purchase someone
else's product or services, you are voting for them with your money. You are
making them economically more powerful. So do your best to spend your money
with businesses who are positive and who are giving back to the community.
- Support positive leaders. This is a tough one. I'm not going to
get into politics here at all. All I will say is listen carefully to what
candidates say and do. And look carefully at the people they surround
themselves with. If they are positive, they can do a tremendous amount of
good in the community and in some cases the world. On the other hand, if
they are negative, they can hurt (in some cases destroy) the lives of a lot
of people.
- Think global. Especially with the internet, the world is a very
small place. It is very easy to communicate to people all over the world.
Expand your thinking that you can have a worldwide impact through what you
say and do. Look for opportunities to positively reach out to people all
around the world.
- Get wealthy for all the right reasons. This may sound
strange, but I think that positive people have a responsibility to
use positive thinking and success principles to accumulate a massive amount
of wealth. Why do I say this? Because positive, generous people
do positive things with their wealth for the benefit of all human kind.
Let me ask you a question: is it better for wealth to be in the hands
of positive people or people of weak character? When you truly
understand that wealth is not something you take from others but is what you
receive in exchange for contributing a LOT of positive value to a LOT of
people, then it only makes sense to get as wealth as possible. Wealth
is a sign of how much and how many people you are helping. The great
thing is that you get wealthy by helping a lot of people. And then you
can use your wealth to help even more. The circle never ends.
One last suggestion and request. If you have found this website helpful, please
share the address with others--pass the website address to at least 5 other
people. More of you can. Let's get other people thinking that we
really can make significant improvements--quickly. We can, but only if we
collectively believe we can. Let's create a worldwide, super master-mind alliance for just this purpose.
The information on the power affirmations website is helping to improve lives
all around the world. This is a statement of fact, not just belief. I know this
from the emails I get from people who live in many, many countries. If everyone
shares this website and email with just 5 people, and they share it with 5
people, etc. it won't take long to have a positive worldwide impact. Do the
math--it's astounding. Look at how quickly the internet itself exploded with
users.
Let's improve all our lives for the sake of humanity.
