"Innovate and Grow Rich"
After much study and thought, I believe that the importance of IDEAS is the central theme of "THINK and Grow Rich."
One of the misunderstandings I see on a regular basis about "Think and Grow Rich" is that it means to simply visualize the money that you want and you will attract it.
WRONG!
If you study closely the book "Think and Grow Rich," what Napoleon Hill is really saying is that you need to CREATE IDEAS by THINKING and then effectively execute those ideas.
That's the kind of "thinking" that is necessary to get rich--or achieve any noteworthy goal.
So, I think a better title for "Think and Grow Rich" may be "INNOVATE and Grow Rich."
Here's some examples of super successful, wealthy people (some from the book, some more modern):
- Andrew Carnegie - mass production and distribution of steel and steel products
- Thomas Edison - created innovations like recorded sound, the motion picture (including the TALKING motion picture), the light bulb.
- Henry Ford - Mass production of an affordable automobile
- Orville and Wilbur Wright - the airplane
- Madame Curie - pioneer in the study of radiation. She is the first woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
- Walt Disney - the perfection of the animated cartoon, the modern theme park
- Frank Sinatra and Nelson Riddle - modern, big band sound
- Elvis Presley - Rock and Roll
- The Beatles - first great rock and roll group
- Steve Jobs - the home computer, the iPod, the iPad, the iPhone
- Bill Gates - the windows operating system, the Office suite of programs
These are innovations that have transformed society and that are so common place now, that we forget that they had to be CREATED through INNOVATIVE, imaginative thinking.
Generally speaking, great success and wealth follows INNOVATION. When innovation within an organization or a person decreases, the RESULT is eventual stagnation, failure, and decline.
If you want to improve your ability to innovate, I recommend the book "How to Innovate Like Edison" by Michael Gelb.
Here is a short 10 minute video of Michael presenting some of the ideas from the book:

One way to stimulate your creative thinking and thus your ability to "Innovate and Grow Rich" is with affirmations. Some of my most creative ideas have come from listening to my 488 Power Affirmations recordings.
The way I have created these affirmations is an example of innovative thinking. I took powerful ideas from some of the best self-help material and transformed the words into 1st person, present tense affirmations.
Then I recorded them as separate MP3s. If you think of each recorded affirmation as a "song" you have the right idea exactly.
This allows you to create custom playlists. Or to use the repeat or shuffle functions of your digital playback device.
If you are interested in getting access to those recordings (and my special edition of "Think and Grow Rich" with over 1,000 Power Affirmations), you can learn how to get access at this link:

You may be only one innovative idea, expertly executed away from the success and wealth you desire. These Power Affirmations can help you.
Cheers,
Bill
