Think and Grow Rich: The Original 1937 Edition

by Napoleon Hill - with new reference numbers and wide margins

Wow!  I've recently confirmed that the original 1937 version of the classic Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is now in the public domain.  This is certainly one of the most influential books of all time.  According to the Napoleon Hill Foundation, more than 60 million copies have been sold since it was originally published.

You can only get this special study edition of "Think and Grow Rich" from my website--it's not available any where else on the internet.

If You Think You Have Read Think and Grow Rich Before, Think Again...

This is not the same version of Think and Grow Rich that most people are familiar with.  Most of us are familiar with an edition that Dr. Hill revised and published in 1960.  As I study and compare the original version with the later version, there are a few things that stand out:

  1. There's more references to the Great Depression in the original book--along with advice and encouragement as to how to come out of it.  Here is just one example that is in the original version, not in later versions:

"Never, in the history of America has there been so great an opportunity for practical dreamers as now exists. The six year economic collapse has reduced all men, substantially, to the same level. A new race is about to be run. The stakes represent huge fortunes which will be accumulated within the next ten years. The rules of the race have changed, because we now live in a CHANGED WORLD that definitely favors the masses, those who had but little or no opportunity to win under the conditions existing during the depression, when fear paralyzed growth and development." (from Chapter 2 - Desire).

  2. In the original version, Napoleon Hill made liberal use of capitalization to highlight key points.  This gives in interesting insight into his thinking and adds more emotional energy to the book.

Both of these differences will provide new thoughts and ideas that you will not get from reading later editions.

Think and Grow Rich is Meant to be Studied, Not Just Read:
The Addition of Reference Numbers and Wide Margins

In this eBook edition I've added reference numbers and wide margins to make it easier to use for study.  For the reference numbers, I've numbered each paragraph within each chapter.  So, for example, the quote above is in the 30th paragraph within chapter 2.  So, if I were to make a note about this chapter in my journal, I could add the reference number (2/30) and know exactly where to find the reference.

And with the wide margins, if you choose to print out all or a portion of the book for further study, there's plenty of room to add some notes.

The point is...Think and Grow Rich is meant to be studied, not just read.  There is a lot of material in Think and Grow Rich that requires study and meditation--deep thought.  If you think that you can give it a quick read and get all you need to succeed, you are mistaken.  I have studied this book for over 25 years and I still get more out of it every time I study it (even more so now with this new edition).
