How Do Power Affirmations Compare to Other Affirmation Products?

Out of fairness to the other businesses selling self-help/affirmation products, I have not actually purchased most of their products.  Out of respect, I have not named the websites, but they are actual sites that existed at the time I prepared my evaluation (February 2006).  Looking at some of the top ads in Google related to affirmations, here are some of my observations:

Site #1

• The only information that was free were some "success tips" that you could only get by giving your email address.

• You can hear the words in the recorded programs (that's good)

• The description of their product was not very clear.  It looked to me as if the technique being used was self-hypnosis rather than affirmations.  Maybe self-hypnosis programs have worked for some, but not for me.

• I couldn't find any online samples I could listen to online.  So, there was no way to tell exactly what I was purchasing.  I couldn't even find samples of the words that were being used.

• The materials were shipped rather than downloadable.  This means it takes longer for you to get them and you have to pay for shipping and handling.

• The price was around $30 per CD.  I counted about 15 different programs.  They offer a quantity discount.  After the discount, I estimate that you would have to pay about $360-$400 for the entire program--plus their charges for shipping and handling.

Site #2

• I don't think this site really qualifies as an affirmations site.  They appear to just be offering free inspirational quotes--which you can only get if you give them your email address.  Who knows if they are going to try to sell you anything after that.  I wasn't willing to give them my email address to find out.

Site #3

• This is a site from a well respected publisher in the area of self-help.  They offer a wide variety of great self-help products--books, tapes, CDs, etc.  While the material is excellent, you can expect to pay typical publisher prices--anywhere from $8.76 on up. 
  
  And because the products have to be physically shipped to your location, there will be a shipping and handling charge that will depend on your location and on how fast you want your order. 
  
  In the case of my $8.76 order with a California shipping address, there was an additional $5 for standard shipping.

Site #4

• The only way to get their free information is to give them your email address.

• The site was very confusing.  When I finally found the product that was being sold, I discovered it was an eBook on affirmations selling for $34.95 ("marked down" from $59.95).

• I couldn't find any audio recordings.

• I couldn't find any samples of the affirmations that the author was promoting.  I guess anyone who buys the book is willing to take a shot that it is a quality product.  Personally, without more evidence, I'm not willing to take that risk.  I work too hard for my money.

• This site is by a very reputable company and I'm sure that the product is excellent.  That said, it is very expensive.  The 8 CD set is costs over $100 plus shipping and handling. 
  
  At some point, sellers of audio learning material are going to have to wise up and start offering their products for download (and pass the savings to the customer).

• My guess is that they have other products they will try to sell you after you buy their "introductory package."

• I didn't see any samples available.

• I didn't see an option for being able to download the audio.

• From what I can tell, a good portion of the program is teaching material rather than affirmations.  There's nothing wrong with that.  The real question is do you want excellent lecture material or just affirmations?

• A business opportunity that doesn't appear to have anything to do with affirmations.

• Offers a program of 7 CDs that appear to be primarily lecture material.

• There doesn't appear to be any samples available.

• The cost of the program is $99 plus shipping and handling.  Downloading does not appear to be an option.

Site #8

• Offers a software program that flashes affirmations on the computer screen while playing alpha sounds to put you in a meditative state.  Also uses visualization, subliminal technology (visual I believe) and a few other things.

• As far as I can tell, there are no audio affirmations, so it is not portable--you have to use your computer.

• According to to the author, you only need to invest 10 minutes a day to get the benefits.  I suppose that's possible, but that is difficult for me to believe.

• You can sign up for his free newsletter--if you provide an email address.  The free newsletter supposedly has a value of $147.  That sounds like an arbitrary figure to me to try to increase it's perceived value.

• A trial version of his software does not appear to be available.

• There's all kinds of "free" bonuses you can get, but only after you buy the software (I give away all my free bonuses before you have to buy anything--why?  Because I want to reach as many people with my ideas as possible.  The more my ideas spread, the more valuable they become).

• The cost of the program is $97.  I think that the product is distributed by downloading, so there doesn't appear to be any shipping and handling charges.  According to the site, this is marked down from $359, so you are saving over $260. 

• When you go to the order form, you learn that for $10 extra, you can get 7 different books that are in the public domain (including "Think and Grow Rich" which I offer for free). 
  
  If you get the extra books, the total becomes $107 (notice how most of his prices end in "7"--I've found that this is a frequent practice by a large number of internet marketers.  That's one reason I made certain none of my prices end in 7!).

Don't take my word for this analysis.  All you need to do is to do a Google search on "affirmations" and look at the different sites advertised and listed in the top 10 results.  You can easily look at the different sites and make your own evaluation--if you want to take the time to do all of that research. 

Keep in mind that the websites listed in the search engine changes frequently--you may not come across the exact sites I have analyzed here.  But I'll bet that you will see similar offers and prices no matter what sites you visit. 

The Power Affirmations Advantage

Hopefully by now, it's pretty clear what the advantages are of using the Power Affirmations program.  I created the program for myself because I looked for something exactly like this, but couldn't find it.  Even though it's been over 5 years since I created this program for myself, I still can't find anything like it--at any price. 

• A good portion of the information I offer on my site is free.  The eBook, the ePosters, the original public domain version of "Think and Grow Rich" etc.  There's only two primary products I sell--the Power Affirmation MP3 recordings and the Screen Savers.

• You can get the free information without providing your email address.  Many marketers will say that I am making a big mistake--the "money" is in the follow up. 
  
  In today's environment, I think my position is a competitive advantage. 
  
  I think people are tired of having to give out their email address in exchange for "free" information.  Of course, I still have an email list that you can subscribe to, but I don't require someone to subscribe to get the free information.  Also, I don't send out a lot of email--only when I have a significant announcement.

• At PowerAffirmations.com, the primary focus is about affirmations and little else.  I am a specialist.  The recordings are only of Power Affirmations. 
  
  If you want great lecture material, then I suggest that you look at Tony Robbins Personal Power program or any of the materials by Napoleon Hill, Brian Tracy, Robert Kiyosaki and Zig Ziglar.  There's a reason that these authors have sold millions of copies of their products. I think these authors/speakers are the best in the business. 
  
  Why should I try to recreate what they have already expertly prepared?

• The price for an individual category is only $6.  Or you can order all 6 categories of the Power Affirmations recordings is only $24.  This price is substantially lower than any of the other products I reviewed.
  
  One strategy you will notice if you review other sites is that they give you two different prices.  One is the high price then they mark it down to give you the real price.  This is used by marketers to make people feel they are getting a bargain. 
  
  They think that people are actually relieved they can get so much value for such a low price--even though the final price may still be higher than it reasonably should be.
  
  In the case of my site, I offer the "bundle" price because I wanted to offer a lower price to people who order all the MP3s, but still have a reasonable price for people who decided to just order 1 or 2 categories. 
  
  I'm doing everything I can think of to make it easy for you and others to feel comfortable enough to order the recordings.  Why?  Because I know they will help you improve your life.  What I didn't do is say it is marked down from some artificially inflated price. 

• Because the Power Affirmations are already in MP3 format, they are ready for you to play on your computer, MP3 player or burn to a CD.

• Because the Power Affirmations are each saved as a separate MP3 track, you have ultimate flexibility.  You can put them in any order you want, burn custom made CDs, or play them on your computer.  I'm not aware of any other program that allows you to customize almost any way you want--and it's so easy to do.

• If you play the MP3s on your iPod or your computer, you can combine the different affirmation tracks with your favorite music.  In other words, you can play one of your favorite songs, then play an affirmation, then a few more songs, etc. 
  
  If you are adept at audio editing and have the right software, you could combine the MP3s with your favorite music so that they play simultaneously.  Due to copyright issues, I obviously can't do that for you, but there is nothing to prevent you from doing it on your own (thank goodness for "fair use").

• If you are using iTunes on your computer, you can use the crossfade feature to eliminate the gaps between the songs and/or the Power Affirmations.  I don't think this feature works on the iPod (at least not yet--here's hoping).  This is helpful to keep your momentum going.

• In the free eBook, you get a list of all of the affirmations included in the recordings.  You know exactly what you are getting before spending any money.

• There's a generous number of free samples of the Power Affirmations recordings you can evaluate before reaching your buying decision.

• You can download the recordings and the screen savers immediately.  This means you get the product right away and there are no extra shipping and handling charges.

• I think that if you compare the quality of the Power Affirmations content (the affirmations themselves) you will find that they are superior to most of the affirmations offered by other authors. 

In short, if it's affirmations you want, then I don't think there is any other program currently available that can effectively compete with my MP3 recordings. 

Had I not already created this program and I were looking for affirmations today, I'd personally be really disappointed with the products currently available.  I'd have to do essentially everything I've already done in order to get what I wanted.  I believe I am offering a simple solution to a common problem for an affordable price.

But that's just my opinion.  I encourage you to do your own evaluation.  The good news is that because of the amount of material I've provided through my site and my eBook, I think I've made it as easy as possible for you to do this.

At some point, it's time to stop researching and make a decision.  I think these are your major choices:

• You can either decide not to use anyone's affirmation product.  Not taking any action is a valid choice.

• Continue to use affirmations on your own without buying any additional products.

• Buy someone else's product (usually for a lot more money)

• Order the recordings I have prepared and put them to use.

What ever you do, make a definite decision.  Not to decide, to procrastinate, is to choose with the first option by default.  But making decisions by default instead of by conscious choice is a habit that will most likely make life more difficult for you.  Do your analysis and consciously decide what's best for you.
